Graphic designer
based in Devon.

I’m Jon Heavens, a graphic designer with over 15 years of experience, working from Devon across brand identity, print, packaging, illustration, and digital design. My clients range from hospitality venues in Torquay and Exeter to trade businesses, tech startups, game studios, and publishers worldwide.

Whether you’re opening a restaurant in Torquay, wrapping a van in Exeter, launching an app from Plymouth, or rebranding a business anywhere in the South West — the approach is the same: understand the brief, do the work properly, deliver something that holds up.

Questions

Frequently asked

Are you a freelance graphic designer or a design agency?

I'm a freelance designer with over 15 years of experience, including time at two established South West design studios. You work with me directly from brief to delivery — no account managers, no handoffs. That keeps the work focused and the communication straightforward.

Do I need to be in Devon to work with you?

No. Most of my clients are based outside Devon — across the UK, the US, and Europe. Being based in Devon means I can meet local clients in person when it helps, but the majority of project communication is handled by email, video call, or file sharing. Remote collaboration is the default, not the exception.

What industries do you work with most?

Hospitality, trades and services, music and apparel brands, game studios, and publishers are the most common. The discipline matters more than the industry — if a project needs a strong visual identity or print and digital collateral, the process is the same regardless of sector.

How much does a brand identity project cost?

It depends on scope. A standalone logo sits in one range, a complete brand identity system with print and digital collateral sits in another, and ongoing retainers are different again. I quote every project individually after a proper brief — no templates, no packages, no surprise fees.

How long does a typical project take?

Most brand identity projects run four to eight weeks from brief to final files. Print and digital projects can be faster if the scope is tight. Tour or launch deadlines are worked around when the brief comes in early enough.

What files do I receive at the end of a project?

Every asset in every format you need — AI, EPS, SVG, PDF, PNG — plus brand guidelines where applicable. Print-ready for suppliers and web-ready for digital use. You own the files outright.

Every project starts with a conversation. Send me your brief and I’ll come back with a clear proposal — no templates, no packages, just design built around what your business actually needs.
